Welcome to the Pennsylvania Department of State’s formal election complaint site. Fair and honest elections are the foundations of our republic, and everyone must take responsibility for helping to ensure the integrity of the process. 

If you would like to file a formal complaint, please fill out the information below. If you have a more immediate need, please call the voter hotline at 1-877-VOTESPA (1-877-868-3772).

This online election complaint form is provided for registered voters in Pennsylvania to submit a formal complaint to the voter’s county board of elections and/or district attorney for investigation. Although the site is managed by the Pennsylvania Department of State, the Department has no authority to investigate or prosecute alleged election law violations. Any information submitted with this form, including personal information, will be forwarded to the appropriate county authorities for possible use in future investigations and/or prosecutions. The county board of election and/or district attorney may contact you for more information regarding your complaint.

You must be registered to vote in Pennsylvania to file a complaint using this online complaint form. Therefore, your name and address information must match your voter registration record. Include only the house number and street name in the 'Address' field. Do not include letters or fractions to your house number or unit type and unit number in the 'Address' field.

The Department does not have authority to conduct investigations into these matters and the Department does not participate in the decisions regarding which complaints may be investigated. Therefore, the Department cannot make any representations or guarantees either express or implied as to the action that may or may not be taken on any complaint filed with the online system.
